ALTOONA, Pa. — The fall 2024 issue of “Hard Freight,” Penn State Altoona's literary arts magazine, is now available online.

The fall 2024 issue showcases undergraduate poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art. The issue also features a special section titled “Dear Future Self” in which students, faculty and staff reflect on the 2024 presidential election and their hopes for the future.

Altoona students interested in serving on the staff of “Hard Freight” may register for ENGL 209: Journal Practicum, a one-credit experiential course that focuses on editing the magazine. Students may take the course up to eight times. Student editors select the works to publish, help to organize an open mic event and design the issue.
